New book: ‘Ik ben Luc’, componist Luc Brewaeys, zijn werk en leven

He was a composer, pianist, conductor, music director, educator and an incorrigible joker. He loved whisky, cigars and social dining. He knew no fewer than eight languages and was married and loving father of two daughters. He thought music was maths, disliked Mozart, Schubert and Shostakovich, but thought Beethoven was the greatest musical genius ever.

Luc Brewaeys (1959-2015) was exceptionally gifted, composed uncompromising music and will be remembered as one of the most talented post-war Flemish composers. Based on testimonies from Luc’s loved ones and numerous angles, this book shows us who Brewaeys really was. It is a tribute to a versatile, exuberant and intriguing person, an indispensable portrait for every music lover.
