In Oelbrandt's music, you can hear the sound shadows of composers such as Arvo Pärt and Olivier Messiaen, but he walks his own spiritual path.

Kris Oelbrandt was born in Sint-Gillis-Waas (Belgium) on November 13, 1972. Kris studied violin, viola and piano at the Academy of Music, Drama and Dance in Sint-Niklaas.

Composer Kris Oelbrandt was commissioned by the Dominican Monastery to write a new work on confession.

Music has everything to do with concentration: composer, musician, listener share the same concentration experience. Every note has meaning and significance, every sound speaks. This concentration has nothing to do with forcing oneself, but with relaxing.

After the impressive The Crack (October 2022) and the restrained joyful Reaching out to Freedom (May 5, broadcast live by RTV Oost), music by Kris Oelbrandt will be heard again on June 17: the piano work Catharsis.

Repeated due to success: The Crack, the piece of music that Kris Oelbrandt wrote last year for the Dominican monastery. Oelbrandt, formerly a monk (Trappist) knows how to create music that stops you and brings you back to yourself.

The arpeggione, an almost forgotten instrument, has a very subtle, delicate sound. Nicolas Deletaille, ambassador for the instrument, commissioned many composers to write new music for the instrument. My “Monologue” explores the wide range and multiple playing techniques of this intriguing instrument.

Education Michael has a degree in English Literature from the State University of New York. Despite having no formal music education, he has an active international career in several aspects of the music business.

Celia Swart (1994, NL) is a new music composer, saxophone player and visual artist. Growing up playing saxophone and piano, she found her love for composing.
