Invitation to ‘Forbidden Music Regained’ on November 12

The Leo Smit Foundation, the Nederlands Muziek Instituut and Donemus would like to invite you to the Second Festival Forbidden Music Regained on Saturday afternoon 12 November. After the success of our first festival in November 2021, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam invited us to organise such a festival again.

We will present a series of 25 new  editions featuring works by composers persecuted during World War II under the title ‘Forbidden Music Regained‘. From these, students of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam will perform a selection. This year’s theme is ‘Chamber Music’. The chairman of the Donemus Foundation, Paul Oomens will talk about the role of Donemus and  the chairman of the Leo Smit Foundation, Roger van Boxtel, will present a first copy of the edition series to conductor David Porcelijn.
